International Yoga Day

International yoga day is celebrated every year on 21st June as a globle event. International yoga day started from the year 2015. The idea of the International Day of Yoga was first proposed by Narendra Modi during his speech at the United Nations General Assembly in 2014. The first International yoga day was observed around the world on 1st June, 2015. Since then, it is celebrated annually every year.

A draft resolution on International day of yoga introduced by India's Ambassador to UN, received support from 177 nations, the highest number of co-sponsors for any UNGA resolution. Thereafter, the United Nations declared June 21 as the International Day of Yoga. The aim of World Yoga Day is make people aware of the benefits of yoga in the world.

Yoga is an ancient art which was originated in India around five thousand years ago. Yoga is a good practice if one does in daily life. It helps us to live healthy life style and better life forever. Yoga plays a significant role in our daily life and one must learn to practice it so as to improve their overall mental and physical well being.

Yoga asans make the body strong and flexible. The practice of Pranayama regulates the purification of the internal system and the organs. The energy that is generated in the body through physical practices of asanas is the channeled into meditation or Dhyan for stability, Peace and calm.

The Day aims to raise awareness about the benefits of practicing yoga around the world. The day 21st June is selected as it is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere and shares a special singnificance in many parts of the world.

From the perspective of yoga, the summer solstice marks the transition to Dakshinayana. It is believed that Lord Shiva, the first yogi, is said to have began imparting the knowledge of yoga to the rest of mankind on this day, and became the first guru.

Covid-19 has put enormus pressure on people's physical and mental well-being . Yoga can be a powerfull tool to deal with the lockdown's uncertainly and isolation. During lockdown and in its aftermonth, an increasing number of practitioners have turned to online classes to regain balance and strength.

There are Many season like summer, winter and rainy season but my favourite season is Rainy season. Rainy season is very important for farmers.Farmeres in India worship god Indra for rain. Rainy season comes at the end of the Bummeh. It begins in June and goes till september. It brings relief to men, animals, birds, plants and trees. After the hot time everybody welcomes rain. The climates become very cool and attrective. Whole land become greener. Rainy season is the most plesant and prosperous season of all other season. The sky looks cloudy in this season. In the Monsoon sky is full of clouds. The clouds of different shades move in the sky and it looks very nice. Rainy season increases the beauty of the environment. Tauktae Cyclone

Cyclone storm Tauktae has intensified into a "Very Sever" cyclonic storm, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Sunday morning. Cyclone Tauktae is likely to cross the Gujarat coast between Porbandar and Mahuva (Bhavnagar district) around early morning on May 18.

Cyclone Tauktae is forecast to the west coast of India. Aided with high sea surface tempratures of 30'C and more, the storm will intensity further for the next couple of days. Landfall is forecaste over the Gujarat coast during the early hours of the Tuesday with a wind speed of around 150 kmph. The IMD forecasts that the eye of the storm will cross the coast between Porbandar and Mahuva in the Bhavnagar district.

Western Coastal regions, including Kerala, Karnataka, Maharastra, Goa and Gujarat, will continue to witness spiral rain bands surrounding the storm and produce heavy rains of more than 100mm/day. Even after the storm moving away, southern India will continuously receive more than 20mm of daily rainfall over the next five days due to southwesterly onshore winds.

વિશ્વ વન દિવસ 21 March ના રોજ મનાવવામાં આવે છે. વિશ્વ વન દિવસ સૌપ્રથમ વાર વર્ષ 1971 માં મનાવવામાં આવ્યું હતું . બધા દેશ પોતાની માતૃભૂમિ અને વનસંપદાનું મહત્વ સમજે અને જંગલનું સંરક્ષણ કરે તે ઉદ્દેશ સાથે વિશ્વ વન દિવસ ઉજવવામાં આવે છે. ભારત સરકાર દ્વારા 1952માં " રાષ્ટ્રીય વન નીતિ " અનુસાર દેશના 33.3% ક્ષેત્ર પર જંગલ હોવા જોઈએ. કહેવાય છેકે વૃક્ષો આપના સૌથી સારા મિત્રો છે . જીવસૃષ્ટિને ઑક્સીજન પૂરું પાડવાથી લઈ વરસાદ લાવવા સુધીનું કર્તવ્ય પૂરું પાડે છે. ગાઢ વનરાજી માં રહેલા વૃક્ષોના એકએક પાનથી લઈ તેના સૂકા પાન પણ માનવજાતિ માટે ઉપયોગી છે, અને એટલેજ કોઈ કવિએ સાચું કહ્યું છે કે," તરુનો બહુ આભાર જગત પર ફૂલો આપે ફળ આપે સિતળ છાંયા સૌને આપે "આપના જીવનના આરંભ થી અંત સુધી જોડાયેલા વનોને આપણે જાણે ભૂલી ગયા છીએ સીમેંટ અને કોન્ક્રીટ ની ઈમારતોની આંધળી દોડમાં વન સૃષ્ટિ માટે હવે માનવજાત દુશ્મન બની રહ્યું છે. તંદુરસ્ત પર્યાવરણ માટે ધરતી પર 33.3% જંગલો હોવા જરૂરી છે. તેની સામે ભારતમાં હવે 13% જંગલોજ રહ્યા છે. જો આપણે નહીં જાગીએ તો આવતીકાલ નું બાળક વનને ચિત્રમાં જોઈ સકશે.

કોઈપણ દેશની સંપતિ કે નૈસર્ગિક સંપત્તિ તે દેશનો મૂળભૂત પાયો છે, જેના પર તે દેશની અર્થરચના અવલંબે છે. અવકાશ ખાતાની નેશનલ દૂર સંવેદન સંસ્થાના જણાવ્યા પ્રમાણે 10% થી વધુ વનવિસ્તાર એટલે કે, 1972-75 માં 551 લાખ 80 હજાર હેક્ટર ઘટીને 1981-82માં 460 લાખ 80 હજાર હેક્ટર થયો. દેશના સારા જંગલો સાફ થઈ ગયા છે. બેફામ વસ્તીવધારાના લીધે જંગલની જમીન 1987 સુધીમાં આપણે લગભગ 45 લાખ હેક્ટર કરતાં વધારે જમીનમાથી જંગલનો નાશ કર્યો છે. રાષ્ટ્રની સંપત્તિ માં જંગલો નોંધપાત્ર ફાળો આપે છે.

એકસમય હતો જ્યારે આપના દેશમાં મોટા પ્રમાણમાં જંગલો ફેલાયેલા હતા. હજારો વર્ષોથી આપના દેશમાં લોકો જંગલોનો ઉપયોગ કરતાં આવ્યા છે. હવે હે વનો કે જંગલો પર આદિવાસી પ્રજા હક્ક જમાવતી હતી તે વનો ખેતીના વિસ્તારને ટુકડાઓમાં વિભાજિત થઈ ગયા. તેઓ વન્યજીવોનો શિકાર કરતાં, કંદમૂળ ભેગા કરતાં હતા અને તેમનું આખું જીવન જંગલના સંસાધનો પરજ નિર્ભર હતું. મોટાભાગના જંગલોનો વિનાશ બ્રિટિશરોએ તેમના જહાજો બનાવવા માટે લાકડું મેળવવા માટે કર્યો. પરિણામે બ્રિટિશરો વનોની જાળવણી માટે વનવિજ્ઞાનનો વિકાસ કર્યો. પરંતુ સાથે સાથે તેમણે જંગલોની વહેચણી આરક્ષિત અને સુરક્ષિત શ્રેણીમાં કરી. સ્થાનિક લોકોનો તેમના પરનો હક્ક છીનવી લીધો જેના કારણે, તેમનામાં અસંતોષ પેદા થયો કારણકે આમ થવાથી વન સંસાધનો સુધીની તેમની પહોંચ ઘટી ગઈ. આ કારણના લીધે જ જંગલોનું સંરક્ષણ જોખમમાં મુકાયું અને સંપૂર્ણ દેશમાંથી ધીમે ધીમે જંગલો ખંડિત બનતા ગયા અથવા અલિપ્ત થતાં ગયા.

ભારત એક ગરમ દેશ છે. તે પૈકી લગભગ 7.5 લાખ ચોરસ km ભૂમીપ્રદેશ છે એટલે કે ભૂમીપ્રદેશ દેશના કુલ ભૌગોલિક પ્રદેશનો લગભગ 22% જેટલો છે. ભારતમાં માથાદીઠ જંગલો 0.15 હેક્ટર કરતાં પણ ઓછા છે. જંગલોની વહેચણી એકસરખી નથી ભારતના અમુક રાજ્યો જેવા કે આસામ, મધ્યપ્રદેશ, ઉડિશા, મહારાષ્ટ્ર. અન્ડમાંન નિકોબાર, ત્રિપુરા અને મણીપૂરના ભૂમીપ્રદેશોમાં ગીચ જંગલો આવેલા છે અને તે મોટાભાગે દરવર્ષે પાનખર ઋતુમાં પાંદડા ખેરવી નાખનાર પ્રકારના છે. ભારતના ભુપ્રદેશો પર બધી જ જગ્યાએ વરસાદ એકસરખો પડતો નથી એટલે તેના વનસ્પતિનું પ્રતિરૂપમાં પણ ફેરફાર જોવા મળે છે.

In November, 1971 states members in the session of the conference of Food and Agriculture Organization decided to observe 21st March as World Foresty Day. It is celebrated to highlight the contribution of trees and forests in the life of millians and the weather cycle.

Photography exhibitions, art competitions, short films festivals are organized at the international level on the occassion. The day gives an opportunity to create awarness among recreation of forest. Forest are cracial for us as they provide clean air needed for the survival of living beings. The only purpose behind celebrating this to unnderstand how important the soil and the forest one. The rich wildlife is important for ecology and for this, the forests must be preserved. Schools organize various compititions like painting compititions, essay writing and a quiz compititions on the ocassions of World Forestry Day.

Deforestation is cutting down of trees. It is basically changing the use of land to a different purpose other than the planting of trees. Deforestation has been a matter of concern in this century. Holi

Holi is one of the most popular festival of India. Holi is the festivals of colours celebrated annually in spring season. The festival celebrated on full moon day in the month of Phalgun according to Hindu calender. It is celebrated with great enthusiasm. People forget their old enmity and play with colours amongst each other during Holi.

Holi is a two days ancient Hindu religious festival. The first day is known as 'Holika Dahan' or 'Chhoti Holi'. On this day Lord Vishnu Saved his great devotee Prahlad from Holika and Hiranyakshypu. People burn the effigy of Holika or their old belongings in the fire and celebrate Holi by singing and dancing around it on this day.

Holika Dahan is done in the evening of the full moon day where a large pile of woods is burned on a ground as a symbol of Holika Dahan. Women sing traditional song during this time. On the next day morning people play with colours , meet and greet one another and creat new beginnings. Children are very happy and they run around splashing water colours using water guns. Children fill the baloons with coloured water and throw on each other. The next day is called 'Rangwali Holi', 'Dhulandi', 'Dhuleti', 'Phagwah' etc.

People enjoy this festival by singing, dancing and eating tasty food. Everyone meets family and friends on this day and express their happiness. This festival symbolises victory of good over evil. Holi gives us the message of love, unity and togetherness. It brings harmony and happiness in the country.

હોલીકાદહન પૂનમના દિવસની સાંજે કરવામાં આવે છે જ્યાં હોલિકાદહનના પ્રતીક તરીકે ઝાડ્નુ લાકડુ જમીન પર સળગાવવામાં આવે છે. મહિલાઓ આ દરમિયાન પરંપરાગત ગીત ગાય છે. બીજા દિવસે સવારે લોકો રંગોથી રમે છે,એક બીજાને મળે છે અને શુભેચ્છા આપે છે અને નવી શરૂઆત કરે છે. બાળકો ખૂબ ખુશ હોય અને તેઓ પિચકારીનો ઉપયોગ કરીને પાણીને એકબીજા નાખે છે. બાળકો રંગીન પાણીથી બલુન્સ ભરે છે અને એકબીજા પર ફેંકી દે છે. બીજા દિવસે 'રંગવાળી હોળી', 'ધૂલંડી', 'ધુળેટી', 'ફાગવાહ' વગેરે કહેવામાં આવે છે.

લોકો આ તહેવાર આનદઉલ્લાસથી ઉજવે છે. દરેક વ્યક્તિ આ દિવસે પરિવાર અને મિત્રોને મળે છે અને ખુશી વ્યક્ત કરે છે. આ તહેવાર અનિષ્ટ ઉપર સારાની જીતનું પ્રતીક છે. હોળી આપણને પ્રેમ, એકતા અને એકતાનો સંદેશ આપે છે. તે દેશમાં સુમેળ અને સુખ લાવે છે.

Mahashivratri

Mahashivratri is one of the important Hindu Festival of India. It is celebrated every year in the honour of Lord Shiva.Mahashivratri literally means the great night of Shiva. It is the festival celebrating the marriage of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Mahashivratri falls on 13th night /14th day of Krishna Paksha of Phalgun Month of Hindu Calender.

Mahashivratri is celebrated with great enthusiasm all over India. Lord Shiva balances the nature by acting as a god of destruction. During the Samudra Manthan, Shiva gulped the poison and all the gods performed dance and songs.

On Mahashivratri, very early morning, Shiva temple are flocked by devotees. Temples of Lord Shiva are decorated with flowers. Shiva devotees observe fast throughout the day and night. On this day, they perform various rituals by doing Rudrabhishek and pour water and milk over the shivaling. The sacred mantra of Shiva i.e. "Om Namah Shivay" is chanted throughout in the day in Shiva temples.

There are many mythological legends behind the origin of this festival. According to the legend, a pot of poison emerged from the ocean during the Samudra Manthan. Lord Shiva drank this poison to save the world from evil effects of it. He held the poison in his throat instead of swallowing it.

It is believed that worshipping Lord Shiva on this day brings good health, happiness and prosperity.
